 Enjoy the lighting of a massive tree at Blake's Orchard and Cider Mill and participate in decorating a special Giving Tree benefitting Rainbow Connection. There will be carolers singing, live music, live reindeer, horse drawn carriage rides, and shopping for unique gifts at an artisan market, and much much more. Detroit Tree Lighting, Campus Martius Park, 11/18

The Downtown Detroit Partnership and DTE Energy Foundation officially kick off the holiday season with the 19th annual Detroit Tree Lighting, held at Campus Martius Park from 5 p.m.- midnight. The Detroit tradition will center around a Michigan-grown Norway spruce decked with ornaments and illuminated by thousands of shimmering LED multi-colored lights — after a countdown by Santa. The event is open to the public and will feature live entertainment on the ice and the stage, lighting attractions across the downtown area, holiday shopping, and plenty of festive activities, including horse-drawn carriage rides, food trucks, and ice skating at The Rink at Campus Martius Park presented by Visit Detroit.

Winter Lighting & Toyland, Beacon Park

The Children's Tree at Beacon Park, decorated by Detroit children and their families, will come to life this Friday when it gets lit up at 5 pm. Guests will also enjoy interacting with the parks 2022 holiday theme "Toyland" featuring large light features, a choo-hoo train, giant teddy bear and more photo friendly attractions. Visit with Santa, meet live reindeer, ride the toy train, and watch a live broadcast of the Annual Detroit Tree Lighting at Campus Martius. The  "Toyland" holiday display will run through Monday, Jan. 16, 2023 and free rides on the toy train will be available on select Saturdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas from 5-8 p.m.

Kick off the winter season at Jingle and Mingle, a free, family-friendly event on Troy St. featuring local DJ's, hot cocoa, fire-pits, seasonal decor, a play zone for kids and more! Attendee's are encouraged to bring boxed or canned food items to donate to the Renaissance Vineyard Community Food Pantry. Grab some food from Imperial Taco Truck, DG Gourmet Sandwichs, and Little Lou's Hot Chicken and enjoy all the Ferndale community has to offer. More information here:

The City of Grosse Pointe Foundation and the Parks and Recreation Department are kicking off the season at their Annual Tree Lighting in the Village. Listen to carols and make s'mores while sipping on free cocoa is provided by the Grosse Pointe Boat Club. Live reindeer and special guests will also kick off a very special evening.
